Romance

Silent words

For a minute
For a short span of time
Her eyes spoke of interest
The side of her mouth pulled up
My lips mimicked hers
She seduced me for long seconds with those eyes
They spoke of what we might do
Told me what kind of person she might be for the night
She spoke of a longing
Spoke of desires that swam just away from us
But when the lift’s ding sounded
Her eyelids shut and closed that book
Eyelashes that had fluttered like curtains now harsh slashes severing the thoughts
She exited with a generic smile leaving me lost in time.
