Waterfall Lies

She basked in his words
Deluded she held power over him and her standards better
His only want for her time only what her body could offer
Her need to be wanted and loved soaked the lies
The wrong tongue offering to soothe her wounds
Waterfalls of lies cascaded down her body
A bountiful offering, but reeking of disappointments
Paranoid and desperate she clung to her elusive walls of strength
Wandering hands caressed to placate her resisting body
Her pretend shudders only fooled her mind she was bigger than he
But her brittle laugh she thought mellow to the ears only worthy of pity
The dirty waters of his words waded her in
Oblivious to the blatant truth staring at her her.
